The former PGA Tour phenom and rookie of the year has been struggling with his career the last couple of years, but showed up and followed through with game last week. He finished T5, 8 under par on the Montreux Golf & Country Club course.

Robert Allenby, playing in his go-to Hard Kore, Black, C50 lens, battled hard and won not only a well-deserved second place at the recent PGA Players Championship, but also glowing accolades from a host of golf writers on his sportsmanship and skill.

A globe trotting Morgan Pressel (wearing her now-beloved Sequence in G12 lens), beat an internationally talented field in the Salonpas Cup on the Japan LPGA Tour.

Brian Gay, wearing Jetty Matte Black G12 shot a stunning 7-under 63 in the final round to tie for 2nd, his best finish this year.

According to ESPN:
“Gay also continued to adjust and improve his game throughout the weekend before his 63 was Sunday’s best round by three shots.

“‘I’ve been working on a couple things this week, just a little bit with my path,’ Gay said. ‘I was close [earlier in the tournament], [they] were just not quite falling. But I made my share today.’

“The second-place finish was Gay’s best since his win in the St. Jude Classic in June 2009. As he left the course Sunday, he didn’t expect his 8-under finish to put him in contention for the win.”

In a thrilling finish to The Players Championship at The TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Robert Allenby wearing Kaenon Polarized Sunglasses in Hard Kore Black C50, finished in second place, one shot behind the winner Tim Clark. Considered the sport’s unofficial “5th Major” and the richest tournament purse on Tour, Allenby battled hard down the stretch and stayed in the fray as the rest of the field withered in the closing holes of a course that will challenge the nerves, particularly at the famous island green 17th hole where Allenby saw his birdie putt hang on the lip in agonizing fashion, leaving him one behind going into the final hole, instead of tied for the lead.

Davis Love III also placed well finishing tied for 4th place after a strong closing round.

Kaenon enjoyed massive coverage for all four days of the tournament between Robert Allenby and Davis Love III who both played in Hard Kore.

Playing in Hard Kore Tobacco with G12 lenses PGA Tour player Kevin Streelman clinched the inaugural $1million Kodak Challenge – winner take all format – with a birdie on the 17th hole at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic in Orlando, Florida. A new, unique format that extends through most of the PGA Tour, Kevin claimed the Kodak Challenge million-dollars via a separate, PGA Tour KODAK-sponsored prize for the most birdies made during a certain stretch.

Steven Powell, director of the Kodak Challenge noted, “I don’t think we could ask for a better ambassador than Kevin Streelman as our very first champion.”

Kevin’s caddie Michael Collins also is an avid backer of the Kaenon Hard Kore in Black G12 on and off the course.

GOLF – VOLVO MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP – CASARES, SPAIN
Wearing Hard Kore C50 Sunglasses, Robert Allenby cruised his way through the brackets of the Volvo Match Play Championship in Spain, last weekend, setting up the grudge match of the year against American Anthony Kim in the Semi-Finals. The winner advancing to the championship match. Allenby won the Petit-Finals giving him 3rd overall and he went undefeated wearing Hard Kore Black C50, until the semi’s.

Cold weather and rain early in the week ushered in the Fall Championship on the PGA Tour at the Turning Stone Resort Championships. Rod Pampling finished 7T in Hard Kore Rx G28 golf sunglasses.

GOLF – Sugar Grove, IL

The American side took their third victory in a row over the European side in the women’s most prestigious team / country event – the Solheim Cup.

The US Team was led by Morgan Pressel in Georgia Olive Crystal G12 golf sunglasses and her victory-clinching singles match yesterday in the final Sunday singles play.

Christina Kim playing in Klemm, also won her singles match Sunday and played extremely well all weekend, as well as emerging as a vocal team leader.

Sophie Gustafson wore Jetty Tobacco C28 and played well for the European side.

Sophie Gustafson, playing in Jetty C28 golf sunglasses in the final round on Sunday lost in a one-hole playoff to finish second. She was tied for the lead Saturday after three rounds, where she wore Lewi Tobacco C28 – showcasing the versatility of our frames throughout the tournament. Huge crowds in this quaint town on the border of France and Switzerland is one of the largest and more respected tournaments on the LPGA schedule all season.

John Daly makes the leaderboard on Thursday, the opening day of the 138th Open Championship at Turnberry finishing up Round 1 with a solid 2 under par. Having won the British Open in 1995 at St. Andrews, John Daly gets fans amped up as we head into the weekend. Excitement will surely come from his game, which is always interesting with every shot. John’s showing how much fun he’s having by the outfits he’s adorning on course; loud, fun and creative, sort of like his golf game! What he’s taking very seriously, is his eyewear. Brian Gay wearing Jetty Black G12 wins the St. Jude Classic by 5, leading to an impressive second PGA victory for him this year. This win sends him to the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. In addition to Gay’s win, Kaenon Polarized was dominant at the St. Jude Classic with Robert Allenby who finished 4T wearing Hard Kore along with John Daly who had a solid return to the PGA and shot a 70 wearing Spindle S2 golf sunglasses.

John Daly is serving out his US PGA Tour 6 month suspension in Europe on the European Tour, but finished with a strong 2nd this week in his second tournament wearing Spindle S2 C12 and C28.

John Daly, is a colorful character to say the least and while he’s got his eye on the ball wearing Kaenon Polarized’s Spindle S2 Sunglasses, everyone else has their eyes on Daly – whether it’s for his great play or his choice in clothing is yet to be determined.

Davis Love III and Robert Allenby, both wearing Kaenon Polarized Hard Kore Sunglasses, started hot. Davis faded and missed the cut, while Allenby wearing Hard Kore Tobacco C50, made a final charge on Sunday to get up the leaderboard before faltering the last few holes in, settling for 14th.

PGA TOUR FBR OPEN (Scottsdale, AZ) – Brian Gay, wearing Hard Kore Black G12 was well positioned for victory going into Sunday’s final round, only 2 shots off the lead and tied for 2nd. Coming up short on Sunday, he finished tied for 6th in beautiful sunglass and t-shirt weather, extending his string strong play starting off the 2009 PGA Tour. The most raucous PGA Tour stop all year, with the legendary stadium-seating set-up on the 16th hole hosted the biggest party in Arizona all week, with an estimated 100,000 drunken fans letting loose on every shot.
Rod Pampling in Hard Kore G28 Rx finished T12. Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger also wore Hard Kore G28 at the FBR over the weekend.

Despite the Party Hole Distraction, Robert Allenby finishes 3T in the Australian Open

You’ve heard it before – just when it’s your turn to hit the ball, some wise guy in the gallery yells, “Noonan!”…so much for golf being the quiet game. Showing serious determination and mental skill, Kaenon Polarized’s Robert Allenby (Hard Kore Tobacco C50) continued to strike the ball with consistency last week to finish 3T in the Australian Open, despite the noise from the now infamous party hole at Royal Sydney. A point of contention at this year’s tournament, the Party Hole was positioned on the Royal Sydney’s 17th hole, one of the toughest holes in the world, where you’re hitting a two iron into a postage-stamp green. Australian Masters Champion and Kaenon Polarized golfer Rod Pampling, who wears Hard Kore Black G28 Rx sunglasses put in a solid effort as well, finishing 16th in the final event in the Triple Crown of Australian golf.

John Daly Shoots a 62 (one stroke shy of the course record at UBS Open)

John Daly took a step towards silencing his critics last week at the UBS Hong Kong Open as he shot a 62, the low round of the day and one stroke off the course record.  Amidst his recent troubles, Daly acknowledged the accomplishment, but was quick to note that it was the first part of a longer journey back to his former self.

Daly will play in next week’s Australian Open in Sydney, making it four tournaments in four weeks.

Laura Diaz (Georgia and Variant V9, V8), Carin Koch (Eden, Jetty, Rhino), and Sophie Gustafson (Lewi C28) wrapped up a solid season on the Pro Tour for Kaenon’s golfers. Love won the Children’s Miracle Network Classic in Orlando, his 20th career victory, Diaz finished 3rd at the Grand China Air tourney in China and Gustafson also notched a 3rd place finish in South Korea.
