PGA Tour Update; Rain, Rain Go Away…
GOLF – Northern Trust Open, Pacific Palisades, CA
The weather didn’t provide much sun last week, but Kaenon’s golfers braved the elements and thanks to the range of Kaenon performance lens tints, played through the tough weather at the famed Riviera Country Club in the Northern Trust Los Angeles Open. Robert Allenby lives in Hard Kore C50 lens, rain or shine, and battled conditions more similar to St. Andrews Scotland than to LA, as the area saw heavy rain throughout the tournament.
Kevin Stadler wearing the new Klay Matte Black G12 finished 10th. Allenby continued his streak of solid play collecting a top 30, as did Rod Pampling in Hard Kore G28 Rx.
Davis Love III wore Hard Kore G28, Nick O’Hern was in Hard Kore C28 (he frequently changes lens tints according to sun conditions), and Kevin Streelman played in Hard Kore Black G12.
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tees off on Thursday, February 11th in scenic Monterey, California, where Kaenon golfers will be vying for the $6,200,000 purse.

Kaenon’s Robert Allenby Prevails in Sudden Death Playoff
GOLF

Allenby is the first Australian in 29 years to win this tournament.
He started the final round two back, paired in the last grouping, and came up 18 with a one-shot lead—par, he wins. He bogeyed 18 which forced a playoff with Stenson.
Disappointed with himself not to finish it in regulation, Allenby was determined to take the win after several close calls in 2009, and the $1.2million winner’s check. ”I thought we were going to be there all night,” Allenby said. “But I’m proud to be the first Australian to win this title, and I knew once Henrik pushed his approach out right (on the final playoff hole), I had a chance if I could hit the green in regulation.”

British Open at Turnberry Golf Club
GOLF – TURNBERRY, SCOTLAND
Tom Watson – what a show!
John Daly, wearing Spindle S2 C50, C28 and even C12 during the varying weather of the British Open on the Scottish west coast delivered a solid Open showing he’s re-committed to his golf game and has the ability to produce quality results. John Daly finished at +4, same as Davis Love, III who will go under the Laser this week to have Lasik corrective surgery on his eyes. Robert Allenby never got anything going and neither Rod Pampling or Brian Gay made the cut.

John Daly and his girlfriend Anna, put on her own fashion show, matching her Kaenon’s to her/his daily outfit.

John’s showing how much fun he’s having by the outfits he’s adorning on course; loud, fun and creative, sort of like his golf game! What he’s taking very seriously, is his eyewear. Wearing Kaenon Polarized and the lightweight semi-rimless Spindle S2 with Copper 12 lenses, John is seeing every break and subtlety on each putt. He’s religious about his Kaenon’s and he’s playing great golf!

AT&T National hosted by Tiger Woods – PGA Tour
GOLF – Congressional Country Club Bethesda, MD

Davis Love, III playing in Hard Kore Black G28 ended up the top Kaenon player finishing 11th. While he provided solid, quality exposure all four rounds, it was Rod Pampling playing in Arlo Matte Black G12 Rx who made much noise and an attempt at victory. He played with Tiger in the final group Saturday and was still top 5 and in position to win Sunday. However, he hit the wall and shot a high number only to tumble down the leader board. British Open in 2 weeks.

PGA Tour Update
GOLF
It’s a testament to any brand, when the product truly speaks for itself. Catching the interest of elite athletes worldwide, including many on the PGA Tour, Kaenon Polarized has quickly become a favorite with professional golfers on and off the greens, and touted by pros and ams alike as the best golfing sunglasses available.
Pairing various styles and lens tints to perfect their game, last week’s Accenture Match Play Championship in Tucson, AZ hosted Davis Love, III (Hard Kore G28), Rod Pampling (Hard Kore G28 Rx), and Robert Allenby (Hard Kore C50) among others. While the competition heated up with the well hyped return of Tiger at this event, the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Riviera Maya, Mexico displayed some strong contingencies as well. Brian Gay won this tournament last year wearing Basis G12 to seal his first PGA Tour victory. This year he can be seen wearing Hard Kore Black G12, Chez Reavie swapping between Hard Kore G28 and C28, Aaron Watkins (Hard Kore Tobacco C28), Notah Begay, III has been wearing both Gauge Walnut C28 and Hard Kore Tobacco C50 and C28, and Robert Gamez in Spindle S1 G28.

John Daly’s Low Round of the Day
GOLF
John Daly Shoots a 62 (one stroke shy of the course record at UBS Open)
John Daly took a step towards silencing his critics last week at the UBS Hong Kong Open as he shot a 62, the low round of the day and one stroke off the course record. Amidst his recent troubles, Daly acknowledged the accomplishment, but was quick to note that it was the first part of a longer journey back to his former self.
Daly will play in next week’s Australian Open in Sydney, making it four tournaments in four weeks.
John Daly can be seen wearing Kaenon Polarized Spindle S2’s.
